A2 - Filming With New Equipment

 Equipment

Filming with all of the equipment

Studio Lights

My Teacher bought these studio lights from Amazon and let me use them for my interviews. As I had never used them before it was a challenge putting them up for the first time, but then once I knew how to I was able to help my friends put them up for their filming. The lights were £36.99 for two and came with bulbs and a carry bag.

Tripod

I bought my tripod from Amazon for £17.99. It was a crucial part of equipment for my production. It meant that the footage was not shaky as it was not hand held and that I could position the camera in the best way to capture a range of angles; while working with the bright studio lighting. Although the tripod is very basic, it worked perfectly for me.

Microphone

The microphone I used was the Rhode - VideoMic Pro. I had never used a mic before to film with so I watched some youtube tutorials on how to use it, the settings on it and how to set it up. It was relatively straight forward as I just needed a 9V battery and then it plugged into my camera and it sat on top. There is a huge difference in the audio captured with and without the mic so I am very happy with the outcome of my audio in the clips.

Camera

The camera I used to film my production was the Nikon D3500. I had not used this camera before therefore I had to research it and watch tutorial as I did with the mic to make sure I was using in the correct way to get the best outcome. I also used this camera to take photos for my website and poster. My teacher provided me with the camera as my cannon did not have the external mic output I needed.
