Femme fatale 2017 inspired Makeup tutorial
Femme fatale inspired makeup look
This is the end result of the look. I used the key features of dark eyes and red lips to base the look around and then made the face slightly more highlighted and bronzed than it would have been but still subtle.

Step by step
1) Eyes
I began the look with the eyes so that if there was any fall down from the eyeshadow it can be covered and wiped away. I blended a mid brown tones and light grey ones onto the eye to create a subtly smokey eye suitable for the mysterious femme fatale roll.
2) The base
I used foundation to create a smooth base which evened out the skin. This would also make the skin appear clear on camera so would enhance the femme fatales beauty. I then use used concealer to cover any blemishes and then set the face with powder to complete the base.
3) Eyebrows
There is no particular order to do the look in but next I did the eyebrows. I only lightly filled them in to make them appear darker and have more shape.
4) Eyeliner
The classic femme fatale look consists of winged eyeliner in many looks. I attempted to do a wing but could only do it on one eye so decided to continue the look without it.
5) Bronze
This may not have been done back in the 1940 but I added some just to add shape and colour back to the face by bronzing.
6) Highlight
Once again this would not have been used in the 1940's but I added a subtle highlight to give a glow to the skin.
7) Mascara
This gives the eyelashes definition and makes them appear longer and darker which would have been noticeable in the black and white films.
8) Lipstick
The final step is to add the signature red lip to complete the femme fatale look.
